What is it like to work with you?
A.I think I'm fun and comfortable to work with! My former career as a child life specialist had me working with hospitalized children, which has allowed me to have both an animated personality and an ability to handle stress and go with the flow! But check out my reviews to see what my couples have said it's like to book with me!
How do I book you?
A.For any session, you must sign and mail or scan/email a contract I provide. Along with this, weddings require a $500 non-refundable deposit.
All other portrait sessions require a $50 non-refundable deposit. Once I receive a signed contract and deposit, we're all set!
For the deposit, you can either send a check via mail or send it electronically with Zelle.
How many photos do I get?
A.Currently, I'm delivering between 50-100 different edited photos per hour on wedding days. This number fluctuates depending on the flow of the day.
I never limit the amount of photos you get in your gallery. You get all pictures, except the "three B's" (blinking, bad, blurry)!
How do I get my photos?
A.All your photos will be uploaded to an online gallery. With the online gallery, you'll be able to share the link with your friends and family or share your pictures directly to social media. You'll also be able to download the photos to any device or order professional prints directly from your gallery.
Do we get a print release?
A.Yupp! Every wedding/session comes with a print release. This allows you to print photos wherever/however you like, though there's always the option to order prints directly from the gallery.
A photo release does NOT give others permission to edit photos.
How long does it take to get our pictures?
A.For a wedding (or elopement/microwedding), I guarantee your edited online gallery will be uploaded within 8 weeks from your wedding date.
For a portrait session, I will upload your images to an online gallery in 6 weeks.
What is your photography style?
A.My shooting style is a mix of traditional and photojournalistic. This means I like to capture natural, candid moments. At times during wedding days or shoots, I will interject and offer tips to help create a beautiful picture. Times where I might offer more guidance is during family formals and portraits of the wedding party and couple. During "getting ready", ceremony, reception and cocktail hour, I'm more of a fly-on-the-wall, capturing moments as they occur!
My editing style is more light and airy. Colors in my photos are muted and overall, my pictures look bright and clean.
Do you have a second shooter?
A.Yes! I have some amazing second shooters! It is an additional $150/hour for a second shooter for your wedding. You choose the hours of second shooter coverage you would like, or I am happy to help work with you to decide what amount would be ideal for your day!
Are there any travel fees?
A.Sometimes, yes. If you are within 50 miles round trip of my Alexandria, Virginia location (22310) there are no fees! If your wedding/shoot is outside this range, there is an additional $0.50/mile fee.
What if I want you to shoot my wedding/session and I don't live in the DMV?
A.If you're outside the DMV I'm super willing to work it out with you! This depends on where your event is, but let's chat about it!
Is there a fee if my wedding is on a holiday?
A.Yes. There is a 10% fee added to your coverage price if your wedding date is on a bank holiday.
Do you have backup camera?
A.Yes! On photo shoots and wedding days I always carry a backup camera with me. My backup is a Canon EOS 90D.
Do you have liability insurance?
What do you shoot with?
A.My camera is a Canon R6! I use various Canon prime lenses throughout the day and also use Canon flashes (on-camera and off-camera), when needed.
Yeah, but I'm really into photography and would love to see a list of your equipment?
A.Sure! Here it is:
- Canon R6 (main camera & with lens mount adapter)
- Canon R6 (backup camera)
- EF 85mm f/1.4 IS USM Canon lens
- EF 35mm f/1.4L USM Canon lens
- EF 135mm f/2L USM Canon lens
- EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Canon lens
- Three 600EX-RT Canon speedlites with Neewer light stands
What if my wedding is postponed because of COVID-19?
A.This time has been so challenging, with the uncertainty something like a pandemic brings. I know wedding planning can be stressful, even without COVID-19 looming over us. Because this virus has lead to many events being postponed or cancelled, I try my best to accommodate your new wedding/shoot date. If I am unavailable to shoot the new date (if it is changed because of COVID-19), your non-refundable deposit will actually be refunded. I ask that you keep me informed as decisions for your wedding are made.
But, if you decide to cancel your wedding altogether, your deposit is not refunded.
