When you're wedding planning and figuring out your day-of schedule, you may wonder if a first look is right for you and your partner. A first look is when a couple sees each other on a wedding day before the ceremony. Of course, there's pros and cons for having a first look. Some of the cons include:

  1. You see each other earlier and get your portraits done together earlier, which means... waking up earlier! Which depending on your rehearsal, could be a little tricky!
  2. The time of the day you'd get your portraits done, isn't ideal for lighting. Photographers like to avoid the middle of the day for pictures to avoid crazy lighting situations.
  3. A first look is less traditional, and potentially different from what you were always imagining for your wedding day.
